How to use Barcode Scanner

Follow these practical checks to use the feature reliably and understand the data it shows.

Scanning packaged foods

From Add Food, open Scan and hold the barcode inside the camera frame. Camera permission is required; manual code entry remains available.

Fixing unmatched products

If no match is found, confirm the full number and try manual entry. Do not save a different product simply because its name looks similar.

Saving custom entries

Create a custom food using the nutrition label when no reliable match exists. Check whether the label values are per serving or per 100 g.
